– 10 Day Herbal Detox & Rejuvenation Programme FAQs –
Do I have to go on a restrictive diet whilst following the detox programme?
You will be given a specific list of foods to eat or avoid while on your plan. This will be discussed during your 30 minute scheduled appointment to ensure:
- You are focusing on the health goals that you want to achieve (e.g. weight loss, improved digestive health, brighter mood etc.)
- It fits with your lifestyle (e.g. family and work commitments.)
The idea is not to make your life miserable, but to work out a plan you can stick to, thereby providing visible results.
For the most part you will be asked to avoid common problem foods such as processed pre-packaged foods and those high in sugar. Depending on the plan and your individual goals, you may also be asked to cut out specific foods such as dairy or high sugar fruits. Remember this is not forever, but a short term measure to provide your body with a chance to rest and reset.
Of course it is entirely up to you if you decide to go along with the advice provided or not. However, if you have made the commitment to invest your time and money into getting well, cheating on the plan is rather like trying to empty the bath tub of water by pulling out the plug while leaving the taps running. Most people find that the herbs provided as part of the kit help them to cope with any cravings, and the end result is well worth the effort.
What if I can’t manage to complete the full 10 days?
Although 10 days is the optimum time to carry out the plan, it can be done in two phases over the course of a month. This option is suitable for those who are new to detoxing or have health concerns which mean they need to take things a little more slowly. Provided you ease yourself in and out of the process gently (detoxing and then bingeing is definitely not recommended) it is perfectly fine to do a short cleanse of 2 to 3 days and then have a break for a week or so before starting again. This option is also helpful if you have an important event to attend whereby following a strict protocol is not going to work for you. Remember, this is about making the plan work for you – not the other way around.
Might I feel ill during this process?
If you’ve followed a detox protocol before, you may already be familiar with something known as the Herxheimmer Reaction. This is a phenomenon which occurs when the body rapidly releases a lot of toxins from the tissues. What this basically means is that the organs of elimination are having a harder time than usual keeping up with the job of processing rubbish out of your system. The herbal products supplied in your kit are designed to support the body throughout this process, thereby reducing any unnecessary symptoms or discomfort.
The Herxheimmer reaction can be avoided by ensuring you’re going at a pace which feels right for you; hence the reason why (unlike other detox packages on the market,) this herbal kit comes with a short introductory consultation and email support during office hours to ensure you understand what’s happening as you go through each stage of the process.
I have a health condition and am unsure if the detox is going to be suitable for me. How can I make sure it’s safe for me to commit to the 10 day plan?
Before commencing the detox and rejuvenation programme you’ll be asked to complete a short health questionnaire to ensure you don’t have a health condition which is going to preclude you from undertaking the cleanse. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss any concerns during the 30 minute consultation which comes as part of your package.
What can I expect from our consultation?
We’ll sit down together and come up with a short list of goals you’d like to achieve from your 10 day commitment. I’ll then provide you with a programme pack which will contain all the information you need in regard to your supplements and how to take them. You’ll also be provided with a food list and recipe booklet which can be adapted to suit your individual situation.
For the ten days you are following the programme, you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that you can contact me via email (during office hours) to ask any questions you might have about your supplements, meal plan, or anything else that comes up for you. Once we’ve had our initial chat, you can start the detox plan at any time you like. You’re ready to go!
Can I do the 10 day herbal detox programme if I am taking GP prescribed medication?
You should not stop taking any GP prescribed medications without the express consent of your doctor or other health care professional. It is highly recommended that you consult your GP before embarking on any detoxification programme or making significant changes to your diet.
